The Sagrada Familia Mission Church of Ibiza, headed by Dcn. Margarito Adobas, celebrated its 20th anniversary with the theme: To God be the Glory. The first part of the celebration was a program held on December 03, featuring a theatrical production about the ministry of St. John the Baptist as he prepared the people’s heart for the coming of the Messiah. The congregation also presented a variety of dance numbers both christian and modern. The Church of St. James the Less of Barcelona extended its support as around 60 members participated in the celebration and presented different Filipino traditional dances. Bishop Felicisimo Cordero presented certificates of appreciation to the core group members for their faithfulness and commitment during the past 20 years.
The second part of the celebration, held the following day, was a Liturgical celebration jointly ministered by the Ibiza and Barcelona members. Bishop Felicisimo congratulated the community and encouraged them to put into action the message of the Gospel reading of the day about St. John the Baptist’s ministry: reconciling people into Christ. During the offertory exhortation, the youth, as the next generation of leaders in the church, were challenged to carry on the work of their parents and elders by starting with their tithes and offerings, and to be the role models in upholding the mission of the Church.
